If the disc sits towards the middle, it will be ok. I checked this against about 20 rentals, and got pretty good at telling of the disc would be cracked before taking it out of the sleeve. My hunch is that theyre charging more for BR because they have to keep buying new discs to replace the cracked ones. If they have such an abysmal failure rate, and it is due to their mailing sleeve, as Mark suggests above, then surely it would be cheaper to redesign the sleeves than to keep buying replacement discs. I, too, will begin marking the cracked Blu-Ray discs. I have a very strong hunch that I received one of the cracked discs twice. War, Inc. had to be shipped 4 times ! before I got a good copy, and I could swear that the third shipment was the exact same white fang movie trailer as the first.
